I’m Back!

After taking a year off to recharge and reconnect I am happy to say I am back and extremely excited!  The last session I did was for one of my best friends and her wedding (which I am also photographing) is just around the corner.  We took a road trip last weekend for a friends wedding in Banff so I took some shots of their beautiful and personal ceremony which was on one of the docks at Vermillion Lakes.  On our way home we did some sight seeing and I was reminded how much beauty there is in our world.  It’s hard to capture true beauty in a photograph and transfer it to what you see when your standing right.  Here are some pictures from our trip and stay tuned for the wedding pictures.

City Engagement

My best friend is engaged and I couldn’t be more thrilled for her, their wedding will be my first next July. What a beautiful couple they are and the love between them just radiates in every picture.  Here is the fun and sexy shoot….enjoy!

Baby Nate 2 weeks old

Here is sweet little Nathaniels first photo shoot.  Megan has been doing so great with everything she has been dealing with.  Nate has been a true blessing to this family.  We are all so happy to be a part of your life little man.  Much love.

Girls Just Want To Have Fun

These shoots are my favourite….two bright, beautiful young women full of life and love.  We did some studio shots and then headed outside to my favourite location.  K is just finishing her schooling to become a real estate agent so we did some head shots for her exciting new career.  Thank you girls!

Madison…4 years

I had a session this morning so I took advantage of having my backdrop all set up and snapped some pictures of little Maddy.  She certainly isn’t shy behind a camera but you don’t get to snap away too long until she loses interest and gets bored.   Me being me I snapped 20 pictures in a 2 minute span.  Have to be quick with these little ones!!!  Love you baby girl!

This last picture was taken with my new lens which is a 10-20ml so it isn’t ideal for portraits but I wanted to play with it and she looked so cute I thought I would post it anyway.  Can’t wait to play with my lens outside more!

Keira is turning 4

With Keira’s birthday right around the corner her mom thought it would be fun to have some pictures taken to do her party invitations.   Ms. Keira is also going to miss her Soccer photo’s this year because she will be doing her Dance recital for Stageworks the same day as her soccer pictures.  Not to worry though her mom is such an awesome mom, she brought all of her soccer gear so she didn’t have to miss out on having her soccer pictures taken as well.  We whizzed right thru 3 wardrobe changes that I think Keira was shocked at how fast we were done!  Great job today sweetie!  You look stunning!

New Life

My dear friend has been thru what I would describe the most trying and emotional month I can imagine.  She was expecting her 3rd baby in 3 weeks when she got the news that would change her whole life.  Her husband was in a tragic car accident while he was away at work leaving him paralyzed from the chest down.  The day seemed like a nightmare that we couldn’t wake up from, nothing seemed to be real and didn’t feel real until she dropped me off after spending the day at the UofA hospital and I just fell apart.  I didn’t know how to deal with what was going on and I wanted to be strong for her so she could have a rock to lean on, we have always been that for each other no matter what.  The week to follow took a terrible toll on her and her baby, living at the UofA, pacing miles a day and having every little thing running thru your mind.

Her docter induced her a week early and we were off to the Grey Nun’s to have baby on Tuesday April 27th.  Megan found out with her other two babies what she was having but this one she wanted it to be a surprise.  Denny and Megan asked me to be in the room when they had Jaxyn so when she asked me again for this baby my feelings were undescribable.

At first we thought we would have to skype the birth with Denny at the Glen Rose so we had everything all set up and ready to go.  Megan just started skyping with him and her nurse walked in and asked “so tell me again why he isn’t here with you?” Megan told her we didn’t think it was possible because of the care Denny required.  The nurses said if he can sit in a wheel chair or lay in a bed to get him here!  So she called Denny’s charge nurse and he arrived in a cab an hour later.  With Denny in the room she finally felt a sense of peace and was finally ready to have this baby.  Nathaniel Dennis Ross was born at 2:37 and put into his daddy’s arms seconds later.  There wasn’t a dry eye in that delivery room and it was so nice to cry tears of joy rather than pain.  Denny and Megan got the little boy that they were meant to have, one more miracle to be thankful for and cherish in their days to come.

I am so deeply honoured to introduce baby Nate. There was a lot of love flowing around in that delivery room that day and I can’t express in words what it was like to be a part of it and share it with two people I love very much. Nate and his Grandma (Megans mom) Aunty Kim (Megans sister) Aunty Linda Nana (Denny’s Mom) 3 Generations Nate and Chris

The most amazing nurse, Corrina.

Engagement Session #2

Mother & Daughter Session

Engagement Session #1

Mound Red was our camping site for Thanksgiving from 2000 to 2006. It is a quiet and calming place the we really enjoyed and each of my kids got to experience as they came into the world,  I miss having our huge family gatherings there but knew I would be back.  I was so excited to do 3 sessions there last weekend, it hasn’t changed a bit and is still just as quiet and peaceful as I remember.  Here are the 2 engagement sessions and 1 mother daughter session.  Thank you to all of you it meant a lot to shoot there.
